    Robbie Conal’s Lectures and Workshops

Guerrilla Poster Artist Robbie Conal is available to give lectures and workshops. He has been invited to universities, colleges, and art schools around the country for many years, and participated in panel discussions, and public forums addressing such subjects as the history of non-sanctioned public art, the rise of street art from graffiti to museum status, and his personal adventures getting his own political and satirical art up on the streets.

Robbie’s full-on dog and pony show, a one hour power-point slide show and 11 minute “Guerrilla Etiquette & Postering Techniques” video, includes a brief anecdotal history of public protest art from Daumier and Posada, to John Heartfield, The Guerrilla Girls, and Shepard Fairey. He shares war stories from 25+ years of midnight posterings in major cities around the country, including interactions with local police and the United States legal system. The lecture is typically followed by a half-hour Q&A.

Robbie is also available for graduate student seminars, critiques and workshops. Some previous lectures include Metropolitan Museum of Art, NYC, The Getty, MOCA, Alfred College of Arts and Crafts, New York, Columbia University, Chicago, The Art Institute of Chicago, Hastings College, Nebraska, University of Texas, Austin, Northern Illinois State University, York University, Pennsylvania, Washington University, St. Louis, Museum School of Fine Art, Boston, University of Wisconsin, Madison, School of Visual Arts, NYC, Wesleyan, Connecticut, UCBerkeley, UCSD, UCSB, UCSC, and many more.
